Philips Swift S616L


The new phablet called ‘Philips Swift S616L‘ from the company is listed online. This is the same device that was certified by TENAA in September.

It sports a huge 6.5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution. Recently, Lenovo had also launched a phablet called Phab Plus with a 6.8-inch display but this comes with 1080p resolution. The S616L is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor along with 2 GB of RAM. It also has 16 GB of internal storage and can be expandable up to 32 GB via MicroSD card slot.

The device comes with a plastic back panel and chrome finished frame around the device. Unlike the glossy finish on the back, it comes with a matte back that offers some grip while holding this 6.5-inch phablet. While the recently launched S616 and V787 came with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, the V616L still run on the out-dated Android 4.4 Kitkat.

On the camera front, it has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The 3,000 mAh removable battery is what keeps the device powered we can expect it to last for a single day of mixed usage. It supports dual SIM dual standby and also offers 4G LTE connectivity.


It measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs around 188 grams. The phablet is priced at 1,399 Yuan (US$ 220) and is already available for purchase. It is available in the Gold color, and we can expect it to be available in the few more colors once it is officially launched. Stay tuned for more official details regrading the device.
