Aster Yosegi Wood
Famous
brand Vertu, which has recently been owned by a Hong Kong company Godin
Holdings, has released an exclusive version of its smartphone Aster, presented
last year. Vertu Aster Yosegi Wood became the embodiment of combining English
and Japanese arts. In addition, it is the first device from Vertu with a body
made not of leather or precious metals, and wood. But the tree is not common as
in devices from Motorola, and the implementation of an ancient Japanese
technique of carving Yosegi-zaiku, which appeared during the Edo and previously
used to decorate household objects in thought upon the traditions of Japanese
families.

Aster Yosegi Wood became the first unit of the company in the wooden case.
Technique Yosegi-zaiku is stained planks of lime in different colors and
thorough varnishing in several layers. A large number of these bars are
combined into a large wooden blocks called geometric mosaic, which are then cut
into the thinnest of sheets and are used for decor items. The surface of these
sheets manually varnish to six times, and then ground and polished to achieve a
protective glossy surface. Often, this technique is used for decoration of
furniture, boxes and other household items.
On
the technical side Vertu Aster Yosegi Wood is no different from the original
Aster. The device is a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels,
quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock frequency of 2.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM,
64 GB of internal memory, 13-megapixel main and a 2-megapixel front camera, and
battery capacity of 2275 mAh. It works machine running an operating system
Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Vertu
will release only 50 copies of the smartphone. All of them will be shipped with
covers from calf leather in black or beige suede lining inside.
