OnePlus 13

OnePlus has always prioritized having the latest and greatest chipsets in its flagship phones and it wasted no time announcing its OnePlus 13 with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite. The best OnePlus phone yet also has a flagship BOE display, an IP69 ingress protection rating, and a larger 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery. While the OnePlus 13 is launched in China first, it will be released in global markets in the coming months.

Starting with the screen, OnePlus 13 ditches the curves of its predecessors and moves to a 2.5D quad-curved structure. The display looks flat, but it has subtle curves on all sides. As a result, OnePlus 13 is slightly shorter than its predecessor while still boasting a 6.82-inch diagonal. OnePlus 13 gets BOE’s flagship X2 OLED display. It’s an 8T LTPO OLED panel with 1440p resolution and a 1-120 Hz refresh rate. Typical brightness is now rated at 800 nits, while peak brightness tops out at 4,500 nits. The other new addition is the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

OnePlus is bringing an updated IP69 rating, which is becoming a trend on Chinese flagships. It one-ups the IP68 rating by including support against high-pressure liquids and steam cleaning. Another under-the-radar addition is the new vibration motor with “gaming controller level feedback”. With its 602mm³ volume, OnePlus claims this is the largest vibration motor ever put in an Android phone.

The back of the OnePlus 13 features a trio of Hasselblad-branded 50MP cameras. The main 23mm equivalent shooter uses a Sony LYT-808 sensor with OIS. It is joined by a 3x periscope (LYT-600) with 73mm equivalent focal range. The third shooter is a 15mm equivalent ultrawide cam using Samsung’s S5KJN5 sensor which doubles as a macro shooter. OnePlus 13 boots ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 for the Chinese market, while international units are expected to launch with OxygenOS 15. Rounding out the spec sheet is a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

OnePlus 13 comes in White, Obsidian, and Blue colors. Pricing in China starts at CNY 4,499 (US$ 632) for the 12/256GB version and tops out at CNY 5,999 (US$ 842) for the 24GB RAM and 1TB storage model.
