Following a lengthy teaser campaign, Lava Mobiles announced its Agni 3 smartphone in India today with several noteworthy features. The main attraction is around the back and it’s not the cameras but a 1.74” secondary AMOLED touchscreen. It serves multiple purposes ranging from displaying notifications and allowing you to manage incoming calls, to acting as a camera control for taking selfies with the main 50MP camera. You can also control media playback and use several first-party apps like the weather, timer and step tracker. The back also features a 50MP main cam with a 1/1.55″ Sony sensor and OIS. It’s joined by an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide module.
Agni 3 brings a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED
display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s rated at 1,200 nits
local peak brightness and features a 16MP front-facing camera housed inside a
punch-hole cutout. Agni 3 also boasts Dolby Atmos Dual stereo speakers. The
other key feature of the Agni 3 is its customizable Action Key which offers
single, double, and long press functionality. It can serve as a physical camera
shutter button to snap pictures or as a quick switch between silent, mute, and
ring profiles. Users can also use the Action Key to quickly launch any app.
Agni 3 is equipped with MediaTek’s
Dimensity 7300X chipset and 8GB RAM with 128/256GB storage as standard. It
boots Android 14 and Lava is pledging 3 Android version updates and 4 years of
security patches. Rounding out the specs is a 5,000 mAh battery with 66W fast
charging. Lava Agni 3 comes in Pristine Glass and Heather Glass colors. Pricing
