Tecno silently introduced the Camon 30S Pro. The latest addition to the Camon 30 family is the first Tecno smartphone with wireless charging. Tecno equipped the Camon 30S Pro with a new Helio G100 chipset by Mediatek. There are still a lot of unknowns about the platform; we only know it is a 6nm platform with 7% better CPU performance.
The chip has CA 2.0 technology
(Carrier-Aggregate) that allows downlink data to reach 300 Mbits, and Tecno
calls it 4.5G, but the fact remains there's no 5G support on this one. Storage
of the phone is 256 GB, while RAM is 8 GB but can be virtually extended to 16
GB. Camon 30S Pro has a 6.78” AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and up to
120 Hz refresh rate. There is a 50 MP selfie camera with eye-tracking AF inside
a punch hole. The main camera on the back has a 50 MP Sony IMX896 sensor that
is 1/1.56” big with 1um pixel size and features OIS. Alongside it sits a 2 MP
depth sensor.
Inside the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery
that supports 45W wired charging. The wireless charging is rated at 20W, and
the phone has a special magnetic case that allows the Tecno charging pad to
snap right on the coil. The phone can also work on regular non-magnetic
chargers from third-party OEMs. Tecno provided three charging modes for three
different scenarios, depending on user demand – Hyper Charge (the fastest),
Smart Charge or Low Temp Charge. The Camon 30S Pro is also IP53 waterproof
across the whole device.
Tecno Camon 30S Pro comes with NFC and FM
radio and also has an IR blaster controlling legacy appliances; there is also a
fingerprint scanner under the display. The OS is Android 14 with HIOS on top.
The device has a thin 7.75 mm body and is offered in three colors – Gray,
Silver, and Gold. Tecno did not reveal any details about the Camon 30S Pro
pricing and availability at this point.
