Samsung might break the Snapdragon monopoly on its next flagship tablet series, revealed one benchmark listing. A device with the model number SM-X828U likely to be the Galaxy Tab S10+, appeared on Geekbench with a Dimensity 9300+ platform by MediaTek.
The Korean company has been increasing its
usage of MediaTek chipsets in the past four years, as there are dozens of
smartphones with Dimensity and Helio platforms. However, it is a surprise to
see a MediaTek chip in a premium tablet, as we've only seen two of those (out
of nearly 120), and both of them are affordable LTE-only devices.
The device was benchmarked with 12 GB RAM
and Android 14, both of which aren't really a surprise. We are intrigued to see
how Samsung intends to approach this - migrating the full lineup to MediTek is
unlikely so it will either be a split by models or by markets.
