Last week, reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @onleaks) leaked renders of a new Oppo smartphone called the Oppo A3 Pro 5G. The brand has now officially announced the A3 Pro 5G launch date in China, while also revealing design and color options.Through its official Weibo handle, Oppo has announced that the upcoming Oppo A3 Pro smartphone will debut on August 12 in China at 2:30 PM local time. Ahead of the A3 Pro, Redmi will be debuting its Redmi Turbo 3 on April 10, while Oppo’s sub-brand Realme will introduce its GT Neo 6 SE smartphone on April 11.
The brand has also announced the three
color options for the Oppo A3 Pro, namely Azure, Yun Jin Powder (rose), and
Mountain Blue. Looking at the design, the Azure color option will feature a
glass finish, while the Yun Jin Powder (rose) and Mountain Blue color options
will feature a vegan leather back.
While the specs and features of the new
device remain scarce, we know that the device will measure 162.7 x 74.5 x 7.8
mm and feature a 6.7-inch display. Up front, it will have super thin bezels
with a centered punch-hole camera. That being said, we can take a look at its
predecessor, the Oppo A2 Pro, to get an idea of what to expect.
The Oppo A2 Pro made its debut in
September 2023 with a 6.7-inch curved OLED display offering FHD+ resolution,
920 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone features a
Dimensity 7050 SoC that is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of
UFS 3.1 internal storage.
For optics, it features a 64-megapixel
primary sensor and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor, paired with an 8-megapixel
selfie camera. It draws power from a 5,000mAh battery pack that offers 67W fast
charting support. It debuted with Android 13 OS-based ColorOS 13.1 out of the
box and has Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, and IP54 water and dust resistance.
