The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has yet to debut, but a landing page on India's Flipkart revealed a couple of key details, including the design and the April 3 launch date. Much of what is listed on the landing page is already known, but it's official confirmation, so we will take it. The device will run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, while the display uses a 6.7-inch OLED panel, slightly curved to sides and supporting up to 144Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports HDR10+ content and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness.
The camera system is an interesting one.
In addition to the main 50MP camera, the Edge 50 Pro also has a 13MP ultrawide
camera with AF, so it can take close-up macro shots as well. The telephoto
camera is marketed to have OIS and 30x hybrid zoom, but there is no mention of
what the native optical zoom is. One of the more interesting aspects of the
Motorola Edge 50 Pro is the selfie camera. It's a 50MP unit with wide f/1.9
aperture and autofocus. That's a rare find even in modern flagship phones.
The device will boot Android 14 out of the
box alongside a so-called Hello UI with 3 years of guaranteed OS upgrades and
generative AI themes. Other notable features include a vegan leather body or
pearl-like finish, metal frame, IP68 certification against water and dust as
well as 125W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
