The Samsung Galaxy A55 just keeps on leaking. It can't stop itself. We've already seen support pages for it go up, promotional renders leaked, cases leaked, and even its reparability score outed. Today we get the first live images of the upcoming device, and if you were expecting any huge design changes, you'll be disappointed. It still looks very much like any Samsung with the three individual circle-islands for the cameras.
And yet, there is a significant bit of
news here, but it may not be very apparent upon first glance. The Galaxy A55
will be the first in the A5x line to sport a metal frame. The antenna lines are
the dead giveaway. Thus, the A55 will look even more like a high-end phone.
The handset is expected to have a triple
rear camera system (50 MP + 12 MP + 5 MP), a 32 MP selfie snapper, a flat frame
with the new "key island" that raises the power and volume buttons up
for easier usability (which made its debut in the A15 and A25), 128/256GB of
storage and up to 12GB of RAM. Powering the A55 will be Samsung's Exynos 1480
SoC which comes with AMD graphics.
The A55 should finally be getting official
in the next few weeks, as its predecessor was announced in mid-March last year.
