Keychron has introduced the Q3 Max mechanical keyboard in the Chinese market, now available for purchase on JD.com. This keyboard features a tenkeyless (TKL) layout, providing a compact design while retaining the functionality of a full-sized keyboard. The keyboard offers a range of switch options, including red, brown, banana, and a version without switches or keycaps. Prices start at 1148 yuan (US$ 161) for the base model and go up to 1268 yuan (US$ 178) for models with switches.
In terms of build and components, the
keyboard features hot-swappable Gateron Jupiter switches, which are known for
their durability, offering a lifespan of up to 80 million keystrokes. These
switches, along with KSA double-shot PBT keycaps, ensure a comfortable and
long-lasting typing experience. Additionally, the Q3 Max boasts a variety of
RGB backlighting effects, with 22 options available that can be customized
through QMK/VIA software. The inclusion of a multimedia knob adds
functionality, allowing users to easily adjust volume and control media
playback.
One of the keyboard’s notable features is
its support for QMK/VIA remapping, allowing users to customize key functions to
suit their preferences. It adopts a double gasket structure enhanced with
multiple layers of cushioning materials, including latex and PET, to enhance
both tactile and auditory typing experiences.
Its 87-key + 1 knob design supports easy
switching between Windows and macOS layouts, making it versatile for different
operating systems. The double gasket design reduces acoustic resonance between
metals, resulting in quieter typing.
The keyboard is built for extensive
connectivity and personalization. With support for Bluetooth, USB-C, and 2.4G
connections, users can seamlessly switch between devices without delays.
Featuring a robust ARM Cortex-M4 chip, the keyboard boasts a 1000 Hz polling
rate on 2.4 GHz and wired modes, ensuring minimal latency even during
competitive gaming. This flexibility extends to its ability to connect to up to
four devices, including laptops, phones, and tablets, making it ideal for users
who work across multiple platforms.
With dimensions of 365x137x32 mm
(excluding keycaps) and a weight of 430g, the Q3 Max maintains a balance
between portability and functionality. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery,
offering up to 180 hours of usage in Bluetooth mode, and is compatible with a
wide range of operating systems including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
Earlier this month, the company also
launched K3 Max, a low-profile mechanical keyboard with hot-swappable keys.
