Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 13 series in China back in September 2023. We had to wait over three months, but the lineup finally reached its first international market – India. Three phones were introduced on stage – Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+. The phones were announced to be "HyperOS ready", meaning they should receive the new interface soon.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is the mightiest of
all three and comes with a 200 MP camera, 120W charging for the 5,000 mAh
battery and IP68 water and dust resistance. It will be sold in White, Black,
and a colorful Purple variant. Prices (including intial offers) are INR 33,999
(US$ 410/€ 370) for 8/256 GB, INR 35,999 (US$ 435/€ 395) for 12/256 GB, and INR 37,999
(US$ 455/€ 420) for 12/512 GB.
Redmi Note 13 Pro also has a 200 MP
camera, but its selling point was the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, making it
the first phone in India with that exact Qualcomm platform. Other impressive
features are the 120 Hz screen with Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top and
a fingerprint scanner underneath, and 67W fast charging. The phone will arrive
in three colors: Black, White, and Purple. Prices are INR 28,999 (US$ 350/€ 320) for
8/128 GB, INR 30,999 (US$ 372/€ 340) for 8/256 GB, and INR 32,999 (US$ 400/€ 360) for
12/256 GB.
The Redmi Note 13 is said to be the
thinnest phone from the Note lineup – just 7.6 mm, although we remember a Redmi
Note 5A with the same profile that appeared in several South Asian markets over
six years ago. The phone has a 3.5 mm audio jack and an IR blaster, a Mediatek
Dimensity 6080 chipset and IP54 protection, and a fancy Prism Gold color that
the mightier siblings lack. Prices begin from INR 20,999 (US$ 250/€ 230) for the
6/128 GB version, INR 22,999 (US$ 275/€ 250) for the 8/256 GB option, and the 12/256
GB is INR 24,999 (US$ 300/€ 275).
The first sale is scheduled for January 10
at Xiaomi online and retail stores. The Redmi Note 13 trio will also be
available on Amazon.in.
