Back in September of last year we first heard that Xiaomi was working on a flip-style foldable to complement the Mix Fold line in its portfolio. This was to be called Xiaomi Mix Flip, and it was rumored to arrive alongside the Mix Fold 4 at some point later this year.
Today, the Mix Flip has been certified in
China by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The certification
reveals what might be a surprising fact: the Mix Flip will have support for
satellite connectivity. Xiaomi Mix Flip gets certified in China with support
for satellite connectivity
The fact that it's going to be running
Android is also confirmed, as is its 5G support, but neither of those are
surprising revelations of course. While this certification doesn't reveal any
of the device's specs, a couple of those have already been leaked in the past.
It's said to come with the Snapdragon 8
Gen 3 chipset and a triple camera setup like Oppo's Find N3 Flip, with a 3x
telephoto no less. Hopefully the Mix Flip borrows from the Mix Fold line's
slimness. Unfortunately, it might also borrow the availability limited to just
China. Let's wait and see.
