The first OnePlus device of 2024 is here with the highly anticipated OnePlus Ace 3. The device was announced at a dedicated launch event in China and comes as a direct successor to last year’s Ace 2 with some key spec upgrades and up to 1TB storage.
Ace 3 features a curved 6.7-inch LTPO
AMOLED with 1,240 x 2,772px resolution and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The
BOE-made panel also features up to 1,600 nits brightness in Auto mode and up to
4,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel also boasts Corning Gorilla Glass
Victus 2 protection and a punch-hole cutout for the 16MP front-facing camera.
OnePlus carried over its design language
which debuted on the OnePlus 11 with an aluminum frame and frosted glass back
with a circular camera island that blends into the side frame. Ace 3 also gets
the signature three-stage alert slider. The back houses a trio of cameras
headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX890 main cam with OIS. The main shooter is joined
by an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro cam. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
chipset sits at the helm paired with 12/16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0
storage.
The software side is covered by ColorOS 14
based on Android 14 while the battery comes in at 5,500 mAh and features 100W
SuperVOOC fast charging which promises a complete 0-100% charge in 27 minutes.
OnePlus Ace 3 comes in black, blue and rose gold colors. Pricing in China
starts at CNY 2,599 (US$ 365) for the 12/256GB storage trim and goes up to CNY
3,499 (US$ 493) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version. Open sales in China
start on January 15.
OnePlus Ace 3 is expected to arrive to
international markets as the OnePlus 12R later this month at the OnePlus 12
global launch event.
