Infinix unveiled the Smart 8 last November with the Unisoc T606 SoC and a 13MP primary camera. Today, the brand launched the Smart 8 in India, but with the Helio G36 SoC at the helm and a 50MP primary camera.
The 50MP camera is joined by an unknown
camera, which could be an auxiliary unit. For selfies and video calls, the
smartphone has an 8MP camera inside the centered punch-hole of the 6.6"
90Hz HD+ LCD, which has 500 nits of peak brightness.
Like the Unisoc version, the MediaTek variant
also comes with the Dynamic Island-like Magic Ring feature for background calls
and display battery charging status. However, the MediaTek model runs Android
13 Go-based XOS 13 out of the box and comes in a single 4GB/64GB memory
configuration. It also has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion
up to 1TB. The rest of the Indian Infinix Smart 8's highlights include a
side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C, selfie flashlight, and a 5,000 mAh
battery, likely charging at 10W. It also comes with DTS sound processing.
The Indian Infinix Smart 8 is priced at
INR 7,499 (US$ 90/€ 80) and comes in Rainbow Blue, Shiny Gold, Timber Black, and
Galaxy White colors. It will go on sale in India through Flipkart soon.
