After Intel announced its Core Ultra processors yesterday, a flood of new laptops from various OEMs were announced. However, MSI was the first brand to announce new machines powered by the latest chipset. In fact, the Prestige 16 and Prestige 13 are both marketed with the ‘AI Evo’ moniker. This is because Intel’s Core Ultra processors majorly focus on AI.
As the names suggest, the MSI Prestige 13
and Prestige 16 AI Evo laptops are offered in 13 and 16-inch screen sizes. The
latter has an OLED panel with two display resolution options while the base
13-inch model has a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels. The Prestige duo are
equipped with magnesium-aluminium chassis with the 16-inch variant weighing
1.5kg and 13-inch model tipping the scales at 990 grams only.
On the hardware front, the MSI Prestige 16
AI Evo is offered in Intel Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 9 processor options. On the
other hand, the Prestige 13 AI Evo can be availed in Ultra 5 or Ultra 7
choices. Both laptop models are equipped with an integrated Intel Arc GPU and
an NPU chip onboard. They pack up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM. The 16-inch variant has
up to 2TB storage whereas the 13-inch maxes out at 1TB. The former is backed by
a 99WHr battery cell with support for 140W charging whereas the base model has
a smaller 75WHr battery unit.
The striking highlight of the new MSI
Prestige 13 and 16 AI Evo laptops is that they come with a host of AI features.
These include AI noise cancellation, AI artist (image generator), The company
revealed that it will introduce its own AI Engine in the coming months. The MSI Prestige 13, and Prestige 16 AI Evo
laptops also come with proximity sensors, 3D noise reduction cameras, and a
spatial array microphone. Connectivity options on the machine include Wi-Fi 7,
Bluetooth 5.4, Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, and an HDMI 2.1 port.
The MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo starts at US$ 1,049 whereas the Prestige 16 AI Evo will start retailing at US$ 1,399. All three
laptops are set to launch later this month.
