Tecno has a new entry-level phone in its Pop series with the Tecno Pop 8. The device comes as a successor to the Pop 7 and offers a 90Hz display, better cameras as well as more RAM and storage than its predecessor. Pop 8 is equipped with a 6.6-inch LCD of 720p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. There’s an 8MP front facing cam housed inside a punch hole cutout and dual flash on the top. Tecno is also bringing its Dynamic Port which makes use of the area around the punch hole cutout with useful notifications, charging status and call status.
The back houses a 13MP
main shooter alongside an AI cam. The third cutout houses an LED flash and
interestingly enough there’s a second smaller flash above that one. Unisoc’s
T606 chipset sists at the helm aided by 3/4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage which is
expandable via the microSD card slot. The software side is covered by Android
13 (Go edition) while the battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and supports 10W
charging.
Tecno Pop 8 comes in
Mystery White, Alpenglow Gold, Magic Skin and Gravity Black colors. Pricing and
availability are not provided at this time but leaks point to an INR 7,000
(US$ 85) starting price in India.
