Samsung is now selling its top-of-the-line S Pen in the States for $99.99. The S Pen Creator Edition, which has been on sale in Europe since it was announced, brings a few notable improvements over other S Pen models. For starters, it's bigger and more comfortable for both drawing and writing. It supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity (the same as the S23 Ultra's S Pen) but adds a 60° tilt angle for a better drawing experience.
The S Pen Creator Edition supports Samsung's
Galaxy phones from the Galaxy Note10 and higher, as well as the entire Galaxy S
series, though the Galaxy Z Fold series isn't supported (because it needs a
retractable tip). The stylus can magnetically attach to the side of the Galaxy
Tab S models and is battery-free, meaning it doesn't require charging.
There's a single button on the side of the
S Pen Creator Edition, that's used for different tasks under different apps.
The stylus is also IPX4-rated for splash resistance (unlike the IP68-rated
mobile S Pen). At US$ 99.99, the S Pen Creator Edition slots between the US$ 129
Apple Pencil and the recently unveiled US$ 79 Apple Pencil USB-C, though the
iPad's impressive catalog of apps stands as a huge advantage for Cupertino's
stylus.
