Back at IFA 2022, Lenovo showcased its new ThinkPad X1 Fold, the next generation of foldable PCs that Lenovo began in 2020. Lenovo has now announced the global availability of the ThinkPad X1 Fold. According to the company, the ThinkPad X1 Fold underwent extensive real-world testing, resulting in key enhancements that align with ThinkPad’s reputation for quality and functionality since its introduction.
These improvements include enhanced audio
and video features, smoother mode switching, and refined TrackPoint
functionality. The device now offers more consistent Computer Vision
functionality through Intel’s AI-assisted Visual Sensing Controller, ensuring
seamless human presence detection and auto-lock for security and battery
management.
Cosmetic upgrades have further enhanced
the device’s durability, complementing its Mil-Spec testing. This includes an
improved fabric cover that reinforces reliability in conjunction with the
rigorous Mil Spec 810H testing that the X1 Fold withstands.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold boasts a 16.3-inch
OLED display, up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 1TB SSD storage. It is powered
by an Intel processor, preloaded with Windows 11, and offers excellent
connectivity with Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G support.
The next-generation Lenovo ThinkPad X1
Fold with Windows 11 will be available from lenovo.com and other select Lenovo
resellers, starting at USD 2,499 in the US. It is
expected to roll out to other countries soon.
