Lava unveiled the Lava Blaze 2 4G in April, and as promised, the brand today introduced the 5G version through an online-only event in India. The Lava Blaze 2 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6020 SoC and comes in 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. It's a UFS 2.2 type storage, expandable by up to 1TB via a microSD card. The smartphone has a dedicated microSD card slot for that.
The Lava Blaze 2 5G runs an ad-free,
bloatware-free, "clean" Android 13 out of the box and comes with the
promise of two years of quarterly security updates and an Android 14 upgrade.
It also comes with an anonymous and auto-call recording feature. The Lava Blaze
2 5G is built around a 6.56" HD+ 90Hz LCD with a 180Hz touch sampling rate
and 450 nits peak brightness. The screen also has a centered punch-hole for the
8MP selfie camera.
The Blaze 2 5G's glass back sports a
circular island housing two cameras - 50MP primary and VGA. The island also
houses an LED flash and a circular Ring Light, which is one of its highlights.
The Ring Light blinks in blue to provide notifications for apps and other
functions, incoming call alerts, and battery charging status. Its brightness is
adjustable, but you can't change the color. Keeping the entire package up and
running is a 5,000 mAh battery that draws power through a USB-C port at up to
18W. The rest of the Lava Blaze 2 5G's highlights include a side-mounted
fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM 5G, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Hi-Res Audio
support for the speaker.
The Lava Blaze 2 5G comes in Glass
Lavender, Glass Black, and Glass Blue colors. Its 4GB/64GB model is priced at
INR 9,999 (US$ 120/€ 113), and the 6GB/128GB version at INR 10,999 (US$ 132/€ 125). Sales
begin November 9 in India through Lava's official website and retail network
and Amazon.in. The Indian handset maker also offers Free Home Service so
customers don't have to take their smartphones to Lava's service centers. It
will be provided to the customers at their doorsteps for free if the product is
within the warranty period.
