boAt has shared that its ‘Nirvana Ion’ Bluetooth wireless earbuds, developed in-house, are achieving an Annual Run Rate (ARR) of over Rs. 200 crores. This positions the ‘Nirvana Ion’ as one of India’s most successful personal audio products (TWS). The Airdopes Flex 454 ANC has also contributed to this success, collectively generating over Rs. 350 crores in ARR.
The success of the boAt Nirvana Ion is
attributed to innovative design and approaches by boAt Labs, collaborating with
global tech partners and suppliers. The product prioritizes aesthetics,
innovation, and quality standards to minimize inefficiencies. At boAt Labs, a
dedicated team of 80+ engineers from diverse backgrounds worked on creating
indigenous TWS form factors like Nirvana Ion and Airdopes Flex 454. The
in-house R&D facility took control of hardware, firmware, and app
platforms, ensuring top-notch UI/UX design.
The team also focused on sound
optimization, integrating personalized sound, spatial sound, and HiFi DSP for
crystal-clear bionic sound effects. boAt’s vision from the beginning was to
bring global tech to India, achieved through strong partnerships with tech
companies from the USA, Germany, France, Israel, and Sweden.
The ‘Automation Test Jig’ (ATJ) setup,
exclusively designed by boAt Labs, guarantees superior quality and reliability
for products like Nirvana Ion and Flex 454. This R&D investment allowed
boAt to democratize features like in-ear detection, ANC, multi-device
connectivity, Fast Pair, and app support for products like Flex 454.
boAt is actively working on over 20
personal audio products at various price points, scheduled for launch in the
next six months. The company states that it is committed to expanding R&D
capacity in the future to meet the evolving needs of the Indian market.
