ASUS has unveiled the ROG Octopus 7, a high-performance gaming router now available for pre-order, with pre-sales starting today. Priced at 4,999 yuan (US$ 683) and limited to the first 100 units, this router is designed to cater to the most demanding of gamers. Let’s delve into the specs of this router.

At the heart of the Octopus 7 lies a powerful 4-core 2.6GHz Broadcom chip, complemented by 2GB of DDR4 RAM and 256MB of flash storage, ensuring smooth and stable performance even under heavy use. Although it does not support the 6GHz band, it is capable of impressive speeds, with tri-band concurrent reaching up to 13,000Mbps, thanks to its support for 4K QAM.

Connectivity-wise, the router is well-equipped with two 10G ports and four 2.5G ports for high-speed wired connections, in addition to USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. It boasts a suite of features to enhance gaming experiences, including three-end game acceleration, seven customizable lighting effects for an immersive atmosphere, and the AiProtection Pro security system for commercial-grade network protection. The AiMesh 2.0 technology enables seamless roaming across large homes, ensuring a consistent connection throughout.
