The AYANEO Flip clamshell gaming handheld device is set to be released this December. The FLIP comes with a revised design from its previous teaser presented in September 2023. The gaming device has tweaked keyboards and gamepads from the one teased earlier.
The AYANEO FLIP is the brand’s first
clamshell gaming handheld and it was first announced last month. It was stated
then that the device would have a D-pad similar to what is present in the Xbox
360. However, the new model has omitted the D-pad in place of a conventional
design with a simple layout. The newer D-pad architecture provides more precise
inputs than the earlier spec. The spacing between the gamepad buttons has also
been increased in the FLIP. This delivers improved ergonomics in addition to
the reduced keycaps in the device.
The AYANEO FLIP retains the look of a
floating display with its centrally mounted hinge. The hinge mechanism is
however wider while other elements are unchanged. The FLIP has a 7-inch, 120Hz
IPS panel and will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 7040U APUs. The top APU in the
lineup is likely to be the AMD Ryzen 7840U.
The revised AYANEO FLIP is expected to
arrive before the end of 2023. The specific release optics has not been
released although the model may be in a race against time to meet the release
deadline. AYANEO has not provided any pricing details of the FLIP yet but this
could be released shortly.
