Following Malaysia’s SIRIM, Indonesia’s NBTC, and UAE’s TDRA, the Oppo A38 appears on GCF. These public listings suggest an imminent launch of the new Oppo A series smartphone. It will be a bit lite version of the Oppo A58 which was launched in India a while ago. The new budget smartphone is set to bundle 4G support with usual connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. It will run on ColorOS 13.1 custom UI.
A week ago, it was spotted on NBTC with
the Oppo A18. We expect both the devices to launch on the same day. However,
the specification details of Oppo A38 are not yet confirmed, but we expect more
details to surface before the official launch via leaks. It is expected to be
the Oppo A36 successor which was launched last year. It bundles a 6.56-inch FHD
display with 720 x 1612 pixels resolution. The smartphone debuted with
Snapdragon 680 4G SoC, 6/8GB RAM, and 128/256GB storage. There is a 13MP
primary camera sensor and a 2MP auxiliary camera. In connectivity, there’s
Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
The Oppo A38 could feature a MediaTek
Helio chipset, presumably the Helio G90 or G88. Interestingly, Oppo A58 4G was
launched recently with MediaTek Helio G85 paired with Mali G52 MC2 GPU, 6GB
RAM, and 128GB internal storage. We expect an imminent launch of the Oppo A38.
