These are exciting times for fans of mini PCs. Even though Intel has decided to stop their NUC series, which is a letdown for many, there’s also good news. New models are always coming out. Just recently, we mentioned the new Elite mini PC by Azulle. Also, MSI has now started making mini PCs with their Cubi & Pro DP series, stepping in to fill the gap left by Intel’s NUC.
If you need a PC that can handle your
daily tasks without any problems, the entry-level MSI Cubi series might be just
what you’re looking for. This model is powered by Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake
and Alder Lake-N CPUs and comes with up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM. It has a small
footprint of just 0.66 liters and comes with all the I/O you’d need, such as
Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, dual Ethernet ports, and more. The MSI
Cubi is expected to be available in Q3 2023, and pricing will start at US$ 499.
If you need a little more performance, MSI
has you covered. The Pro DP series is the higher-end offering, and it comes
with support for 13th Gen Raptor Lake-P processors or desktop-grade Raptor
Lake-S chips. It also comes with up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM. Of course, an increase
in performance causes an upward movement in price. The starting price for the
PRO DP10 13M is set at US$ 799. Both the Cubi and Pro DP series come with Windows
11 Home, but MSI recommends Windows 11 Pro for business users.
