iReader introduced the Ocean 3 Plus e-reader a few days ago, an upgraded version of the Ocean 3, featuring an 8-inch E Ink display. Now the e-reader is up for sale at a starting price of 1599 yuan (US$ 223). The new model boasts a larger and higher-quality screen compared to its predecessor.
This new e-book reader features an 8-inch
Carta 1200 panel with a high resolution of 300 PPI, offering a 32% increase in
visible area and a 30% improvement in resolution. Despite these enhancements,
the device maintains a slim form factor, measuring only about 3.9mm in thickness.
One of the key upgrades is the inclusion
of a new custom iReader CPU, running at an impressive 2.0GHz. As a result,
users can enjoy a faster page-turning speed, with a 10% improvement, along with
12% faster boot-up speed and 15% faster PDF opening speed. Additionally, the
device boasts a spacious 32GB storage capacity, providing ample room for a vast
e-book collection.
The iReader Ocean3 Plus also offers
various useful features, including a night reading mode for comfortable reading
in low light, the REINK layout engine for a seamless reading layout, and the
All-Knowing Eye feature for added convenience. Moreover, users can easily
transfer files via WeChat and take advantage of a bilingual dictionary for
language support.
Battery life is impressive as well, with
the device powered by an 1800mAh battery, allowing up to 72 hours of continuous
reading time and up to 30 days of standby time. The e-reader is now available
to purchase from JD.com.
