Ayn has unveiled the Odin 2 handheld gaming console, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, amidst the growing popularity of portable gaming devices like the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. The console comes at an appealing starting price of US$ 299, offering variations with 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB storage options to cater to diverse user preferences. The pre-release glimpse reveals a 6-inch display screen.
Compared to Windows handheld consoles with
AMD or Intel processors, Ayn’s Odin 2 is notably budget-friendly. Its
affordability, paired with powerful features, makes it a competitive option in
the market. However, specific details about configuration and release dates are
currently undisclosed. For reference, Ayn’s earlier Odin series, launched in
2021, introduced models like Odin Pro, Odin Base, and Odin Lite.
The Odin Pro model, powered by the
Snapdragon 845 chip, offered storage variants of 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. It
featured a 6600mAh battery, USB-C and HDMI video output ports, WiFi-5 support,
and a 5.98-inch 60Hz LCD display boasting 1920X1080 resolution. The device also
boasted dual speakers, TF card expansion, and other features.
As Ayn continues to innovate with its Odin
series, the Odin 2’s integration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and its
cost-effective starting price are poised to attract gaming enthusiasts seeking
quality gaming experiences on a budget. While awaiting further details, users
can look to the previous generation product for an idea of what to expect from the
upcoming release.
