Airtel, has launched Xstream AirFiber, a fixed wireless access (FWA) offering, utilizing 5G technology. This service aims to cater to the growing need for Wi-Fi connectivity in homes, particularly in areas where traditional fiber infrastructure is scarce. According to the company, Airtel Xstream AirFiber comes as a solution for the approximately 34 million homes in India lacking fiber connectivity. This wireless Wi-Fi solution is designed to address the last mile connectivity issue, bridging the gap in both rural and urban areas where accessing fiber infrastructure has been challenging.
Airtel Xstream AirFiber stands out with
its in-built Wi-Fi 6 technology, offering significant advantages over Wi-Fi 5
routers. It provides 50% higher speed, wider range, and better coverage,
ensuring seamless connectivity for up to 64 devices simultaneously.
Notably, it also consumes less battery
power for connected devices, improves Wi-Fi password security, and enables
faster downloads and uploads. The setup is hassle-free, thanks to the
plug-and-play design, further facilitated by the Xstream AirFiber app for quick
and easy self-installation.
The Airtel Xstream AirFiber service comes
with competitive pricing options. The basic plan, priced at Rs. 799, offers
speeds of up to 100Mbps and can be availed for a six-month duration with a
one-time refundable security deposit of Rs. 2,500. Additionally, there is a
discounted six-month plan priced at Rs. 4,435 (originally Rs. 4,794) with 18%
GST applicable, bringing the total price to Rs. 7,733.
