If you’re a fan of gaming phones but wanted an even large canvas to get your gaming fix, ZTE has its Red Magic tablet to captivate your attention. The ZTE gaming brand showcased its first tablet alongside the just announced Red Magic 8S Pro. Red Magic tablet brings a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen with 1600 x 2500px resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The panel is advertised to crank out up to 600 nits of brightness and features slim symmetrical bezels that contribute to the slim and light profile of the device.
Red Magic gaming tablet weighs 613 grams and
is 6.5mm at its thinnest point. You also get quad speakers with DTS tuning. The
device is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset alongside 12/16GB RAM
(LPDDR5X) and 256/512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Being a gaming device, Red Magic
tablet brings an ICE Magic cooling system which claims to drop the device
temperature by up to 5°C during intensive gaming sessions. The larger screen on
the Red Magic tablet is also useful if you want to prop up the tab and pair a
keyboard, mouse or joystick for a more desktop-like experience.
There’s 16MP front-facing camera and a
single 13MP rear shooter. The battery is rated at 10,000 mAh and supports 80W
fast charging which should complete a full charge in 55 minutes. The software
side is covered by Red Magic OS 8.
Red Magic tablet starts at CNY 3,899
(US$ 538) for the 12/256GB trim. The 16/512GB version is priced at CNY 4,599
(US$ 635). Open sales in China start on July 11, while international availability
is yet to be detailed. As for the accessories, the Smart Magnetic Keyboard is
CNY 599 (US$ 83) while the stylus pen is going for CNY 399 (US$ 55).
