HTC U23


HTC has introduced the new U23 smartphone in Taiwan. It features the VIVERSE platform built-in, a 120Hz OLED screen, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Back in May, HTC launched the U23 Pro. Now the company introduced the vanilla variant of the U-series. The new smartphone from the Taiwanese manufacturer includes a large 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 2400 x 1080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protected and it has a punch hole.

Inside is the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 octa-core processor, Adreno 644 GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB of storage, microSD expansion, Dual SIM and 4,600mAh battery with 30W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. At the back of the phone is the 64MP f/1.89 main camera, 2MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor with LED flash. While in front is the 32MP f/2.45 selfie camera.

HTC highlighted that it comes with VIVERSE out of the box. VIVERSE is an interoperable ecosystem where different content platforms interconnect to form a seamless user experience in a decentralized, secure, and open way. HTC says that users can currently visit Arts & Exhibitions, attend Virtual Concerts, have their 'Me' time in the VIVERSE, and engage in social gatherings.

Other features include the 3.5mm audio jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP 67 water and dust resistance rating, 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB-C and NFC. The phone measures 166.6 x 77.09 x 8.88mm and weighs 202 grams. Lastly, it will come in either Roland Purple or Watery Blue.

It will be available for purchase in Taiwan this July 25, 2023. Pricing will be revealed when it goes on Sale.
