Handheld gaming consoles are making a comeback thanks to AMD’s efficient yet powerful Ryzen 7000 series APUs. Brands like One-netbook and Aya Neo have already launched new consoles based on this processor, and now, GPD is also refreshing its Win 4 console with Ryzen 7000 chips.
Ahead of the IndieGoGo campaign launch,
the brand has announced the price of the new generation handhelds. The handheld
will come in two different processor configurations. The first will feature the
Ryzen 5 7640U, while the more powerful model will feature the Ryzen 7 7840U.
Both of these processors will come with Zen 4 CPU cores and iGPUs based on the
RDNA 3 architecture.
Specs-wise, the Win 4 will feature a 6″
FHD display with up to 60Hz refresh rate and 368PPI pixel density. The console
has a sliding display which reveals a full qwerty keyboard with backlit keys.
It has AAC dual speakers, Windows 11, a microSD card slot, and support for a 4G
LTE SIM card. The console also offers WiFi 6 support, a USB4 port, and PCIe
Gen4 port. GPD has announced that the highly anticipated Win 4 will be
available for purchase starting July 17th, 2023, at 02:00 UTC.
