Redmi recently teased a new variant of the Redmi 12C smartphone in India. The device made its debut in the country back in March 2023 with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configurations. Now, Redmi has announced a new configuration for the device, which will have 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. This is the perfect balance for people looking for extra storage but doesn’t have use for the additional RAM. That being said, the device has the option to extend the RAM virtually up to 3GB. The launch date of this variant is still under wraps, but the brand has already launched this configuration in Kenya.
The Redmi 12C smartphone features a large
6.71-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels, offering
an immersive visual experience with its 20.6:9 aspect ratio, 500 nits
brightness, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and 70% NTSC color gamut. Running on Android
12 with the MIUI 13 overlay, it provides a customized user interface.
Under the hood, the Redmi 12C is powered
by the Helio G85 chipset, coupled with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of
storage. The device also offers expandable storage through a dedicated microSD
card slot. It offers convenient security options with face unlock and a
rear-facing fingerprint scanner. For photography, it sports a 5-megapixel front
camera and a 50-megapixel main camera on the back, along with a depth sensor
and LED flash for capturing high-quality photos and depth information.
The device houses a substantial 5,000mAh battery
with 10W charging support. Connectivity options include dual SIM capability, 4G
VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm
headphone jack, ensuring seamless connectivity for users.
