Motorola has silently unveiled the Motorola Moto G53j smartphone in Japan. At the same time, the brand has also unveiled the Moto G53y, which is nothing but a Y! Mobile network variant of the G53j. Here is everything about the specifications, features, and price of both models. The Motorola Moto G53j / G53y is an entry-level 5G phone featuring a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device comes preloaded with the My UX-based Android 13. For audiophiles, the device comes equipped with dual stereo speakers.
The Moto G53j / G53y is powered by the
Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset. It comes with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and
a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. The G53j / G53y features a
50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) dual-camera system on the back. It
has an 8-megapixel camera on the front. For security, it offers features like
face unlock and a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
The Moto G53 / G53y offers usual
connectivity features, such as 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C
port. It comes with an IP52-rated splash-resistant chassis. Lastly, it measures
162.7 x 74.66 x 8.19mm and weighs 183 grams. The Moto G53j, which comes in
4GB+128GB configuration only, is priced at JPY 34,800 in Japan. It comes in Ink
Black and Arctic Silver shades.
There is no official announcement about
the price of the Moto G53y. However, it is expected to arrive in three colors,
such as Ink Black, Arctic Silver, and Pale Pink. It is scheduled to go on sale
via Y! Mobile starting June 29.
