A few days ago, at WWDC 2023, Apple officially announced the highly-anticipated 15-inch MacBook Air. Now, the device is finally available for purchase through Apple’s official website and select retailers. The pricing of the 15-inch MacBook Air starts at US$ 1,299, but students and teachers can get a US$ 100 discount. The laptop is being offered in four color options — Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Gray.
The newly launched 15-inch MacBook Air
comes with several upgrades compared to the 13-inch model, including a larger
15.3-inch Liquid Retina Display that offers a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600
pixels and a peak brightness of 500nits. The display is True Tone enabled,
which means that it automatically adjusts the white balance to match the
ambient light.
Under the hood, the device is powered by
the Apple M2 chip which is a significant upgrade compared to the M1 chip,
offering a faster CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine. As per the company’s claims, the
new chipset is up to 18% faster than the M1 chip. It also comes with a
six-speaker audio system and a FaceTime HD camera. Similar to the other models,
this one too has a notch on top of the display and features a flat-edge
chassis. In terms of memory, the device can be configured with up to 24GB of
RAM and 2TB of internal storage.
