Nikon India has launched the Z 8, a mirrorless camera designed for both video and still photography that offers advanced features in a compact and portable body,. It is built to provide reliable and uncompromising performance, while incorporating technology from the flagship Nikon Z 9.
The Z 8 camera is designed for creators
who aim to tell their stories through visually stunning imagery. It is a
versatile and compact video recording system that supports various accessories,
reducing the need for additional equipment during shoots.
With its High-Res Zoom function, the
camera can zoom up to 2x of the focal length during 4K UHD and Full HD video
recording. Additionally, it has a 4-axis tilting monitor, supports various
video formats, and has a long recording time of up to 125 minutes in 4K UHD/60p
and up to 90 minutes in 8K UHD/30p.
The camera offers a Pre-Release Capture
function that allows users to record up to 1 second before or 4 seconds after
pressing the shutter button. Its autofocusing detects approximately 3% of the
human face size in the frame and has various AF modes to suit different
shooting scenarios. The camera’s AF has an enhanced detection range under
darker conditions and supports HLG (HEIF) format for 10-bit still images with
richer tonal gradation.
The Z 8 camera also offers features to
enhance portrait photography, including skin softening, portrait impression
balance effect, and colour temperature adjustments. It is environmentally
friendly and dust-and-drip resistant, with a VR lock and dual coating for the
optical filter and image sensor to prevent damage.
The camera has a Real-Live Viewfinder that
allows for capturing fast-moving subjects without blackout, and the powerful
Vibration Reduction (VR) ensures stable shots. The MB-N12 Power Battery Pack
provides more shots and recording time, and the camera has two USB terminals
for power delivery and data communication.
