Huawei held a big launch event in Munich where it detailed pricing and availability details for the P60 Pro and Mate X3 in Europe but we also got a pair of new smartwatches with the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro. The Pro model brings a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with sapphire glass. Its 48mm casing is made from TC4 titanium alloy which is said to be three times stronger than regular titanium. The regular Watch 4 comes with a 46mm stainless steel casing. Both watches have Always on Display functionality and plenty of new planetary watch face options and are 5ATM water resistant.
Both watches can track over 100 workout
modes and the usual health-tracking features. The new feature on the Watch 4
series is the one-minute seven-point health overview which congregates your
heart rate, SpO2, ECG, skin temperature, arterial stiffness, stress and
respiratory health data into one single report.
Watch 4 Pro also gets the added benefit of
LTE connectivity via eSIM as well as onboard GPS. Battery life on the Watch 4
is rated at three days of typical usage while Watch 4 Pro should last up to 4.5
days. The power-saving modes can extend the endurance to 14 days on the Watch 4
and 21 days on the Pro.
Huawei Watch 4 starts at € 450/£ 400 with
its black fluoroelastomer strap. Watch 4 Pro with the titanium strap starts at
€ 700/£ 600 while the brown leather strap option slots in at € 550/£ 500. The
Huawei Watch 4 series is set to go on open sale in Europe in the coming weeks.
