ViewSonic drawing tablet

ViewSonic, a California-based hardware OEM, is launching a new line-up of portable displays specifically designed for professional-grade creators, such as architects, 3D modelers, visual artists, and graphic designers. The company is well-known for producing high-quality displays and hopes to enhance its reputation with this latest offering.

The new line-up includes three pen tablets: the ID1230, which is the flagship product, and the PF720 and PF1020, which work as graphical slates. The ID1230 is the only one with an active display, and it is touted to have “studio-grade color performance” with up to 90% of the Adobe RGB color gamut and 85% of the NTSC color space.

It is also the lightest 12-inch drawing slate available, weighing approximately 600 grams. The PF720 and PF1020 are also lightweight, weighing in at approximately 190g and 380g, respectively. All three tablets come with precise digitizer pens that have 8,192-level pressure sensitivity and ±60° tilt support.

They also feature hotkeys for multiple shortcuts and USB type-C for charging, data transfer, or mirroring functions, compatible with any up-to-date PC or 4K monitor. However, the company recommends using a ColorPro external display for these purposes. ViewSonic’s new portable pen tablets are expected to be priced and available soon.
