Last November, an Oppo smartphone bearing model code PHQ110 and believed to be the Oppo A98 5G got certified by China's TENAA. Now a new version of the A98, having model designation CPH2529, has been certified by Thailand's NBTC, taking it a step closer to launch outside China. The Thai certifying authority doesn't reveal anything about the CPH2529 other than confirming 5G connectivity. However, thanks to TENAA, we know what the Chinese version will have to offer.
The Chinese Oppo A98 will be powered by a
2.2GHz octa-core processor and pack a 6.7" FullHD+ curved AMOLED display
with a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication. The
smartphone will come with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It will be
fueled by a battery with a rated capacity of 4,690 mAh and have three cameras
in tow - 108MP primary, 2MP depth/macro, and 16MP selfie.
