Nothing Tech just announced its Ear (2) wireless earphones. These are the third member of the wireless earbud range from Nothing and they serve as a direct successor to the Nothing Ear (1), which launched back in June 2021. Not much has changed in terms of design between the two models, but the specs department has gained some useful additions.
Nothing Ear (2) bring support for the LHDC
5.0 audio codec which allows you to stream Hi-Res audio. The buds pair via
Bluetooth 5.3 and feature a new personalized sound profile that calibrates the
buds to your specific hearing after taking a quick test in the Nothing X
companion app. You can further tweak the equalizer settings to your liking from
the app.
Ear (2) also offer adaptive active noise cancelation
ANC which tunes out unwanted noises based on your specific ear profile and
surroundings. Nothing updated the 11.6 mm drivers with a new diaphragm unit
made with graphene and polyurethane materials. Voice pickup is also reworked
with improved wind-proofing that should be better at isolating your voice in
tough environments. Ear (2) also bring dual pairing.
Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours
with the charging case. You can top-up the case via USB-C or go the wireless
route at 2.5W speeds. The new buds support Google Fast Pair for Android devices
and Microsoft Swift Pair for Windows users. The case on Ear (2) is IP55 rated
against dust and water splashes while the buds offer an IP54 rating.
Pricing is set at US$ 149 / € 149 / £ 129.
