Leica's next-generation Monochrom digital rangefinder camera with 60MP triple-resolution technology sensor, internal storage, and USB-C. Leica reinforces its commitment to chasing light for authentic visual stories by announcing the new M11 Monochrom.
The new Black and White only digital
rangefinder camera features a 60MP full-frame B&W BSI-CMOS sensor with
triple resolution technology. This means that it has three native resolutions
that include: 9528 x 6328 (60MP), 7413 x 4928 (34MP), and 5272 x 3498 (18MP).
The sensor is paired with Leica's Maestro III sensor, first introduced in early
January 2022 with the Leica M11.
To achieve the Black and White only
images, Leica purposefully did not add a color filter array. This has resulted in
an improvement in the ISO range (down to 125 from 160 and up to a maximum of
200,000) It has a minimum shutter speed of 3600 seconds and a maximum of 1/4000
sec with the mechanical shutter. The electronic shutter pushes it further to
1/16000 sec. It captures images and saves them into either JPEG or 14-bit DNG
into either a UHS-II type SD card or to the internal 256GB SSD. The previously
mentioned vanilla Leica M11 only has 64GB internal storage.
At the back is the 0.73x optical
rangefinder viewfinder and below it is the 2.3M dot fixed touch screen LCD. At
the bottom, Leica has opted to give it the BC-SCL7 Lithium-ion battery pack
that is rated for 700 shots. It charges and connects to other devices thru the
USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C.
Leica M11 Monochrom priced at PHP 555,000.
