According to Digital Chat Station, iQOO will unveil the Neo 8 series in May. The leakster now provides details on one of the models, the iQOO Neo 8 Pro. The Neo 7 series never had a Pro model, but it did have a Racing edition with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead of the Dimensity 9000+.
The Neo 8 Pro will be powered by a yet to
be announced Dimensity 9200+. If it’s anything like the Dimensity 9000+ (which
was featured in the Chinese version of the Neo 7), the 9200+ will have an
overclocked CPU and GPU compared to the original Dimensity 9200 (likely going
from the current 3.05GHz prime core frequency to 3.2GHz). The Neo 8 series will
allegedly include configurations with up 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of
UFS 4.0 storage.
The leakster adds that the phone will have
a large 6.78” display with 1,260 x 2,800px resolution (20:9) and 2,160Hz high
frequency PWM dimming. By the sound of it, the display will have curved sides.
This is an upgrade in terms of resolution (the Neo 7 had an FHD+ display). The
iQOO Neo 8 Pro will have a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging. Its
predecessor had the same stats and could do a full 1-100% charge in 25 minutes.
By the way, DCS also mentioned that there
will be another Neo 8 model, one with a Snapdragon 8+ (presumably Gen 1)
chipset, which might turn out to be the new Racing edition.
