Huawei had a huge event yesterday where it introduced its P60 series conventional flagships and the Mate X3 foldable top dog. It followed that with the Matepad 11 2023 tablet, Enjoy 60 mid-range smartphone and FreeBuds 5 TWS earphones, but even then it wasn’t done. We also got the Freebuds Pro 2+ - an enhanced version of its most premium TWS earphones.
The Freebuds Pro 2+ are largely identical
to the Pro 2, but add a couple of new sensors. Those enable heart rate and
temperature tracking, allowing them to better fit in your active lifestyle. The
company says this is the industry's first infrared and green light dual type
heart rate monitoring, enabling even higher precision.
As a result of the added sensors the left
earphone has gained 0.2g and now weighs 6.3g vs 6.1g for the right one and the
existing. Freebuds Pro 2. Beyond that it’s the same quality TWS earphone pair
that we loved so much in our review. You get a 52g case with a 580mAh battery
(adding to the 55mAh found in each earbud) that supports USB-C wired and Qi
wireless charging.
You get 11mm dynamic driver and a micro
tweeter, touch controls and solidly performing active noise cancellation.
Bluetooth version is 5.2 and the whole thing is IP54-rated for protection against
dust and water splashes.
The Freebuds Pro 2+ are currently on
pre-order in China with a CNY 1,399 (US$ 205) early bird price. Once official sales
start on April 9 the price will increase to CNY 1,499 (US$ 220). Global availability
will be announced on April 9 as well.
