The last new announcement from Huawei is the FreeBuds 5 wireless earbuds. They bring a daring design to say the least with an in-ear design without silicone tips. The earbuds support the L2HC and LDAC codecs for hi-res audio streaming and offer spatial audio (on HarmonyOS 3 devices) as well as active noise cancelation (ANC) and dynamic EQ tuning.
The buds pack 11mm LCP dual magnetic
drivers and pair via Bluetooth 5.2 with support for multi-point pairing. The
steams bring touch controls. The earbuds should be good for 5 hours of
listening while the combined battery life is rated at 30 hours with the
charging case. The case supports wired charging via USB-C as well as wireless
charging. The whole package is IP54 dust and splash resistant.
FreeBuds 5 come in frost silver, ceramic
white and coral orange colors. Pricing in China is set at CNY 899 (US$ 132).
