The vivo X Fold+ has one of the more impressive camera setups on a horizontal foldable and now the company is working on a flip model. What will its cameras be like? Leakster Digital Chat Station has been digging up details on the new phone and the latest report covers all the key components. The so-called vivo X Flip will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (same as the X Fold+) and will be configured with 12GB of RAM and 128GB storage. As illustrations have showed, the phone will have a large cover display and a dual camera island above it.
Those cameras will feature a 50MP Sony
IMX866 main and a 12MP IMX663 ultra wide, according to DCS. There will be an
additional camera on the inside, a centered punch hole (resolution unknown).
The rear cameras will bear the Zeiss branding, just like other vivo flagships.
Based on previous reports, the internal
display will have FHD+ resolution, the leakster adds that it will measure 6.8”
in diagonal and that it will have 120Hz refresh rate. Based on the
illustration, the aspect ratio will be more slender than the Moto Razr 2022,
though perhaps not as much as the Galaxy Z Flip4. It might match Oppo Find N2
Flip’s 6.8” 1,080 2,520px (21:9) display.
The X Flip is said to have a fairly large
4,400mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. That’s larger and faster
than most flips out there with only the Find N2 Flip coming close (quite close,
4,300mAh and 44W). One last detail from DCS, the phone will have a side-mounted
fingerprint reader (likely built into the power button).
The vivo X Flip is expected to be unveiled
in China next month, teasers should begin coming out as early as next week.
Hopefully, the announcement will include plans for a global rollout as the flip
foldable competition is pretty sparse right now. A vivo X Fold 2 (with
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) is also expected son.
