Tecno just unveiled the Spark 10 Pro – a sequel to the Spark 9 Pro from last year with a better screen. The new model has a larger 6.8” IPS LCD with 90Hz refresh rate, compared to 6.6” 60Hz for the older model (both have 1,080 x 2,460px resolution, 20.5:9). Also, for the first time on a Spark, the 10 Pro has a glass rear, something usually reserved for premium units like the Phantoms.
The company calls this “hard-wearing
Starry Glass” without specifying any brand names. The “starry” part is due to
the speckled appearance – the phone comes in Starry Black and Pearl White. Other
than the display, the new Tecno Spark 10 Pro also brings a slightly upgraded
chipset, the Helio G88 (up from G85, which couldn’t handle FHD+ @ 90Hz
displays). Tecno loaded it up with 8GB of RAM (plus up to 8GB of virtual RAM)
and 256GB of built-in storage. The display and chipset are reminiscent of the
Camon 18, though the base configuration on that one had only half the memory
capacity at 4/128GB. The Spark has a dedicated microSD slot, by the way.
The Spark also has a better front-facing
camera, a 32MP unit with a built-in flash (same as on the older Spark 9 Pro,
but better than the 16MP unit on the Camon). The rear camera has a 50MP main
unit with Super Night mode and 3D LUTs to quickly adjust the style of your
photos, plus an unspecified helper (a depth sensor, most likely). Like its
siblings, the 10 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging over the USB-C
port using the supplied cable and adapter.
This is a dual SIM 4G phone with NFC as
well as FM radio on board, thanks to the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom.
There is a fingerprint reader embedded into the Power button on the side. The
Tecno Spark 10 Pro will be available later this month, the pricing is still
unknown. The phone will launch with Android 13 and HiOS 12.6 out of the box.
