As expected Xiaomi announced its Redmi Note 12 Turbo in China earlier today. The phone pioneers the recently announced Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB UFS 3.1 storage. Redmi Note 12 Turbo brings a 6.67-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel sports a punch-hole cutout for its 16MP front-facing camera. The back houses a 64MP main cam, an 8MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP macro lens.
The phone is powered by a 5,000 mAh
battery with 67W charging support and boots MIUI 14 based on Android 13. In
terms of connectivity, you get Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6 as well as a headphone
jack and an IR blaster. Redmi Note 12 Turbo comes in black, blue and silver
colors. Pricing for the 8/256GB trim is set at CNY 1,999 (US$ 290). The 12/256GB
model is CNY 2,099 (US$ 305) while the 12/512GB version is CNY 200 (US$ 30) more. The
top-tier 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version is priced at CNY 2,599 (US$ 378).
Xiaomi also collaborated with Warner
Brothers on a special Harry Potter edition of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which
brings a neat back design and limited edition accessories. Redmi Note 12 Harry
Potter Edition comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and is priced at CNY 2,399
(US$ 349).
Open sales in China start on March 31.
International pricing and availability have not been detailed at this point.
