Oppo Pad 2

Oppo is expected to launch its new Find X6 flagship series later this month and there is a very good chance that it will unveil a new tablet too – the Oppo Pad 2. Leakster Digital Chat Station has shared a schematic and some details about the upcoming slate.

It will support a new “smart touch” keyboard, which will have a trackpad and kickstand built in. It’s not entirely clear what “smart touch” means here, Oppo never released a first party keyboard for the original Pad or the Air so there is nothing to compare to. You can also see a stylus, this will be a new model (OPN2201) according to DCS. The leakster report that the Oppo Pad 2 will be a much more polished experience overall.

There’s also an Oppo Find X6 by the side of the tablet, which is presumably a nod to Oppo Connect, which smooths out the connectivity between Oppo devices (and Windows computers too). You can drag and drop files, for example, the clipboard is shared so you can copy on one device and paste on the other, there’s second screen support and so on.

The Oppo Pad 2 recently surfaced on Geekbench, revealing a Snapdragon 888 chipset with 8GB of RAM (the original Pad used the Snapdragon 870). There was talk of a Dimensity 9000 version, but it’s not clear if that is coming or not. A 3C certification revealed support for 67W charging, the battery wasn’t listed but unofficial info claims 9,500mAh. The Pad 2 is expected to have an 11.6” 144Hz 2,800 x 2,000px LCD (up from 11” 120Hz 2,560 x 1,600px on the original Pad).
