Vivo has confirmed the existence of the V27 series, though it kept the timing of the launch vague. The phones will be available in India soon and will be sold through Flipkart, which already has a landing page (which can also be seen on vivo.com). The announcement comes with a couple of images showing the upcoming phones. Last time around, only the V25 Pro had a curved display, the vanilla V25 and the V25e had flat displays. This year we think that both the V27 and V27 Pro will go curved.
The V27 Pro and vivo V27e recently showed
up on the Google Play Console, which revealed that both have displays with
1,080 2,400px resolution (size unknown). The Pro model will use a Dimensity
8200, the e-phone will get a Helio G99. The vanilla model, vivo V27, also
leaked, it showed up on Geekbench with an unknown MediaTek chipset (the
Mali-G610 MC4 GPU suggests something between the Dimensity 1050 and 8000, which
have 3 and 6 GPU cores, respectively). The triple camera with a ring LED light
looks quite different from the V25 setup. It does look exactly like another
vivo series, more on that in a bit. First, check out this short teaser clip
published by vivo India:
The image confirms our suspicions that the
vivo V27 series will be related to the S16 phones that launched in China at the
end of 2022. The S16 16 also features the Dimensity 8200, but the other models
use different chipsets (all of them 5G).
As for when the V27 might go official,
vivo has scheduled the Y100 launch for February 16 (Thursday), but we doubt it
will be a shared event. An earlier leak only said that the launch will be some
time this month (well, the V27 and V27 Pro will launch in February, the V27e
will allegedly arrive later).
