Asus ROG Phone 7 Series

While Samsung and Apple duke it out for the crown of the best flagship smartphone, when it comes to gaming, Asus has dominated the global market with its ROG Phone series. The latest from the brand is the ROG Phone 6 series which features Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000+ chips. Since then, both the major players in the mobile SoC industry i.e. Qualcomm and MediaTek have released new and improved flagship chipsets. We expect that Asus will soon launch new gaming smartphones utilizing these processors. This is where the latest report from tipster Paras Guglani comes in (via TheTechOutlook). The new report mentions that Asus has already started working on the ROG Phone 6 series, and there are currently three devices in the lineup.

It appears that customers in India will only be getting the ROG Phone 7 that’ll come bearing the model number AI2205_C. As for when these devices will actually launch, the report shows that the brand could debut the ROG Phone 7 series in the third quarter of 2023, i.e. between June and September. According to the report, the ROG Phone 7 series will likely be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, while the operating system will be based on Android 13. We can expect the ROG Phone 7D to have the Dimensity 9200 chipset powering it.

The displays of these devices will obviously be AMOLED, however, the main question is what will be the maximum refresh rate this time around. According to the last nugget of info provided, the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will have 512GB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM, while the ASUS ROG Phone 7 will have 256GB. As the launch is expected to happen in Q3 2023, further details are still under wraps. We can expect more information to emerge as we get closer to the launch.
