Yesterday we've already talked about the NW-A306 Walkman, there's also a much pricier variant called the NW-ZX707 with both now priced in PH. To recap, the NW-A306 Walkman is an affordable premium music player featuring a 3.6-inch 1280 x 720 HD resolution, S-Master HD digital amp which produces Hi-Res audio at 24-bit/96KHz and higher.
It also has 32GB/64GB storage options and
up to 26-36 hours of battery (will vary based on sound quality). On the other
hand, the NW-ZX707 is a much bigger and thicker device with a 5.0-inch 720p
display. In terms of functionality, it is mostly similar to the one above.
But what changed here is the upgraded
fine-tuned capacitors and FTCAP3 (High polymer capacitor) and another huge
solid high polymer capacitor that offers large capacitance and low resistance.
With these, Sony says that it can deliver smoother sound and wider sound stage
as well as provide powerful bass and clear vocals for listeners.
Sony also included an OFC milled block to
cover the digital block. Sony described this function to bring listeners a
"sound that appears to rise up from silence". Another highlight is
the large 8mm coil for balanced output creating enhanced resolution across all
frequencies.
Since this has much more powerful
hardware, its battery life is also lower at up to 22-25 hours. Again it varies
depending on how high the resolution of the sound you are playing. Both devices
are also capable of producing Hi-Res sound for both wired and Wirelessly
through the LDAC Bluetooth codec and DSD playback that can run formats of up to
11.2MHz conversion.
While the two Walkmans also use Edge-AI
and DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) which is responsible for upscaling
compressed digital music files in real-time. Lastly, they also support WiFi
connectivity and Android 12 OS so you can download music streaming apps like
Apple Music, YouTube Music, or Spotify.
