OnePlus held a big event in China earlier today where we saw the announcement of the OnePlus 11 but that wasn’t the only new hardware at the event. We also got the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds which bring improved noise canceling, Dolby Atmos spatial audio and sound tuning by Dynaudio.
Buds Pro 2 are the successor of last
year’s Buds Pro and offer the same basic design with a two-tone finish on the
buds and a matte charging case. The buds reuse the same 11mm dynamic drivers
and 6mm planar diaphragm drivers. The earphones support Bluetooth 5.3 and their
ANC should drown out up to 48db of outside noise. There are three microphones
on each earbud for optimal voice pickup and noise canceling.
Buds Pro 2 support the AAC, SBC and LC3
codecs at launch while the support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec for high-res
audio streaming over Bluetooth is coming with a future software update. There’s
a 54ms low latency mode for gaming and some neat features for ColorOS 11
devices like posture and cervical spine pressure monitoring. New Oppo and
OnePlus devices will also support dual connection and easy switching between
devices.
OnePlus claims the Buds Pro 2 can last up
to 39 hours with their charging case with ANC off. The case can charge
wirelessly via any Qi charger or wired via USB-C. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 come
in black and green colors and retail for CNY 899 (US$ 130) in China. Open sales
there start on January 9 while international pricing and availability details
will be revealed on February 7.
